Our primary focus is on experiential adventure and environmental education.
On one of our youth activity programs, notebooks, pens and field guides
are as vital as safety, first aid and responsibility. Every experience
includes our core curriculum where the skills and knowledge essential
to perpetuate a wilderness and adventure ethic are taught and encouraged.
Youngsters are taught to be professional, ethical, responsible and safe
users of the environment. Our experiential teaching philosophy is mirrored
in the Chinese proverb ' What I hear, I forget; What I see, I remember;
What I do, I know'. Education is our primary objective, and we believe
that the best environmental awareness and adventure education comes through
an experiential 'hands-on' approach to learning and 'first-hand' experiences.

Teens to Dreams Adventure Programmes
Bush Explorers Africa
'Adventure - Our Forte' Your Pleasure'
TEENS-TO-DREAMS ADVENTURE PROGRAMS
Bush Explorers Africa has designed a number of programs to enable young
men and women who have just completed school or university to become involved
in a training program which comprises a disciplined and ordered approach
to life. The programs main objective is to focus on life skills, adventure
based learning skills and interpersonal skills.
The young adults participating in the program will be exposed to a structured
yet rigorous program which will keep them busy day in and day out. They
will be exposed to structured physical training, active discipline, hygiene,
team work, leadership skills, teambuilding initiatives and facilitation
thereof, interpersonal skills, interdependence, problem solving, conflict
handling and resolution, adventure skills development and task orientation
and the practical execution thereof.
The outdoor adventure components, on which the program is built, will
comprise the acquisition of safety and operational skills associated with
river rafting, abseiling, mountain walking and climbing, kloofing/canyoneering,
mountain biking, horse riding, orienteering, bush-ocean-and mountain survival,
4x4 skills training and wilderness trailing.
During the duration of a program participants will be exposed to a delicate
balance between mental, psychological and physical provocation. Workshops
and theoretical sessions will be complimented by physical application
and skills development in an outdoor environment. Each program will provide
participants with a perspective of the following four pillars of operation
- safety and judgement; leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills;
environmental awareness and 'tools of the trade' skills.
The adventure arenas in which these programs are presented include bush
environments, mountain environments and coastal environments. Each arena
has its own distinct operating objectives in so far as adventure skills
acquisition are concerned. Bush Explorers presents three distinct programs
which are as follows.

During the course of the one week program one can expect to learn about
the environment- fauna and flora, the African skies, geology and ecology;

physical activity component is integrated into the program.
The Teens-to-Dreams Leadership Development Program

The programs are designed on open ended itineraries, where programs may
change from day to day due to weather conditions and other circumstances
which may arise. Participants will however be exposed to every facet highlighted
for each of the above programs. Safety is of paramount importance and
at no stage will safety of an individual or the group be compromised.
The programs are designed to bridge the cultural divide and we accept
participants of any race, colour or creed onto a program. The programs
will accept no fewer than 12 and no more than 30 participants onto each
program date scheduled. Participants are required to become involved in
every facet of the program including housekeeping, cooking and hygiene.
We utilise certain guidelines and procedures to protect our participants
and the environment. All instructors have extensive first aid knowledge.
Accidents are infrequent, but in the event of an emergency we have laid
down emergency and evacuation procedures. Drugs ( other than those prescribed
by a physician ) and alcohol are prohibited on any of our programs. Bringing
them onto a program will result in the participants immediate removal
