Master
of Outdoor Environmental Education and Outdoor Life, 40 p
The main aim of the programme is to clarify the capacity of Outdoor Environmental
Education and Outdoor Life to contribute to sustainable development, environmental
health and citizenship. Contemporary ideas of sustainable develop-ment
in different human fields of activity presuppose a deep and elaborated
awareness of the conditions for a human being's interaction with the environment.
Tuition will be based on lectures, seminars, individual reading and essay
writing. It will be possible to take some of the courses through arrangements
at the web site. It will also be possible to take special courses as a
literature course, i.e. without any formal lectures. Such arrangements
will have to be agreed upon with the person who is responsible for the
programme. Teaching includes field related experience out-of doors, learning
in and through landscapes. Field related excursions (four to five days
each) in different types of Swedish countryside and cultural landscape,
and in the county of Östergötland and Sörmland will be
organised and distributed over the period of the course from September
2004 to June 2005. The course will also be located for two or three weeks
in another European or Nordic country. Students must be prepared to pay
their expenses for travel and subsistence for this part of the course.
Between these intensive periods of learning the student is expected to
write reports and reflections and read the course literature. The course
will end with the submission of a thesis.
Web based distance learning and real meetings. For further information
